I normally do my oil change for my car but since we moved, we now street park and i was not able to do an oil change on the street, plus i put a lot of mileage to my car due to my work and hobby. Normally i wud drive to Dupage county to get a military discount and cheaper sales or service taxes. Since we have moved in this area, im looking for an autoshop that i can trust and rely on, i started calling well known nationwide autoshops and they charge way too far from my budget. Then my second options are the local autoshops. I finally called Dempster Auto Service and ask for conventional or regular oil change price. Mr. Kim said "$25" It fits my budget perfectly and after knowing the owner and the mechanics, they gave me a discount. I don't know if it's military discount or for being a first-timer customer. The mechanic also checked my tire pressure and filled it up with air and cleaned/wipe the dead leaves off my windshield. Those small things, impressed me, it shows that they care about their customers, so im very satisfied. They have coffee pot that everyone is welcome to make their own coffee, there's a tv but it was in korean channel. Im not much a TV watcher so it doesnt really affect me. One thing that caught my eye is their American flag and POW flag outside facing the busy street of Dempster St. They also supported or sponsored many sport and they received 2 certificate of appreciation from American Legion which is awesome. It would be really amazing if they start giving military discounts to our armed forces and veterans though or perhaps a loyalty program. But nonetheless, i highly recommend this place, support our local businesses!!! I will definitely come here again. Building trust and friendship takes more than one visit.

I changed my 5 stars to 2, and here is the reason why. Below is my 5 star review, but the reason for the 2 star is because they are only interested in high profit repairs and are very bored by repairs that aren't going to net a lot of money. Just remember this. Smaller things that are important to you will not be important to them; they will blow it off 've been going to Mr Kim for all of my car troubles for about 10 years now, and he and his crew are completely honest and 👍 great neighborhood mechanics. Highly experienced and thus, they excellently solve complex problems in a completely transparent and also a budget friendly manner. Trust your cars to this business as I do

I have been taking my cars to Mr Kim for 5 years and he does the best work. They can fix almost every issue with you car and they are very honest! I will never go to another mechanic for my car needs. They also work very very efficiently to get your car done in a timely matter!

The owner, Richard, is what you want in a service repair owner. Honest and thorough, so much so that their reputation IS THE MARKETING. If it's required to be fixed, they will tell you. If it can wait, they will tell you that as well. A repair shop is one of the few things in life where one must have a 'dependable go-to'. Dempster Auto Service is on my 'go-to' list. The best on the northshore!
