Sal who repairs your car and is the owner is the most VERY honest & reputable in Chicago . He will do his best to keep the cost as low as possible I've been going to him for over 34 years . Sal's helper is very knowledgeable and does a great job also . Last time I spoke to Sal sounds like he's going to be closing the door soon .

My car has a transmission problem that my current shop was unable to diagnose. They suggested I take it to a transmission specialist. A friend recommended this place, and after explaining the situation, he got angry and kept telling me he needed to look at it and he couldn't diagnose it over the phone. (I never asked him to diagnose over the phone.) I simply asked him if he specialized in diagnostics for transmissions and he continued saying the same thing over and over and was yelling at me by the end. Having been in business this long, I would think he would be more appropriate with customers, new or old. Needless to say, I will not be bringing my car here.

I've filed a complaint with the BBB for this terrible auto shop. I took my car in because I was hearing a strange squeaking sound coming from the front passenger side of my vehicle and needed an oil change; the sound was not consistent and would come and go away again. When I dropped my car off with them I told them the issue and rushed off to work. - I got a call later in the day because they could not remember why I brought the car to them. Really? - They called me later and insisted that the sound I was hearing was coming from the rear of the vehicle not the front. Through my complaint with the BBB I have fond out that they never actually inspected the front of the car, they just "took it for a few test drives" and didn't hear anything. You know, funny thing about sounds that come and go away...sometimes you can't hear them. It's extremely concerning that a shop that prides itself on being in business for 32 years can't figure out that for an intermittent sound like that decided you need to actually take a look at it instead of relying on a few "test drives." Especially since when the sound came back a short while later and I took it to a second shop, the second shop figured out the problem just from my description to them: the control arm was failing on my front passenger side. The second shop even showed me degrading control arm and explained that the reason the sound would come and go is because of the way the control arm moves in the socket - sometimes allowing you to go days without hearing any sound. Had that control arm failed it would have been several thousand dollars to repair the damage.

I've had M&R do a few jobs on 3 different vehicles. Prices are reasonable and always get a clear breakdown of what I'm being charged for. I've also always had a quick turnaround time as well.
