Deceptive Business Practices I have never in my life posted a bad review. My family and I have been bringing our cars to Joe for over 20 years, so it’s disappointing and frustrating to write this. I brought my car in for a very specific exhaust rattle. I told Joe exactly where to check. He later admitted he never inspected that area, but still charged me $100 for hose clamps that didn’t fix the issue. The car sounded the same, and the original problem was untouched. I had to call off work and pay for Ubers just to get to the shop—only to have nothing resolved. I brought it back the same day, and he told me to return another time since he had to finish other cars, promising he wouldn’t charge me again since the work didn’t address what I actually brought the car in for. I made multiple attempts to return over the next few weeks, but every time I called, he said the shop was too busy. When I finally found time to come in, I called him to let him know I'd have the car in that following morning—he waited until I walked in the door the next day to say: “I thought about it and I’m going to have to charge you again.” When I reminded him of his previous promise, he refused to work on the car at all. That’s unacceptable—and frankly, it feels like deceptive business practice. I was charged for something I didn’t ask for, the original problem was ignored, and then I was told to pay again just to get what I asked for in the first place, over a month later. On top of that, Joe’s attitude was dismissive and rude, which I noticed another recent reviewer mentioned as well. As a long-time customer, it’s incredibly disappointing. It also felt like some customers were being prioritized over me—which raises concerns about favoritism or simply not valuing loyal clients. I will file a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General. I don’t post reviews lightly, but this experience cost me time, money, and trust. I can’t recommend this shop anymore. UPDATE after shop response: Don’t let their response fool you. Called back today and he still refused to fix the issue and hung up in my face. • I explicitly told you to check the M brace. Why? Because I inspected the exhaust before I brought it in, I even thought I was the heat shield and installed one hose clamp myself already, which DIDNT FIX THE RATTLE, so I brought it in to you. Joe later admitted you didn’t inspect that area I suggested, and instead installed 2 hose clamps on the heat shields without my approval and charged for a hour worth of labor. • If it was the heat shields why is my car still rattling? The rattle was still there immediately after, which I brought to your attention the same day and was confirmed by your technician. Joe told me to bring the car back and said I would not be charged again, since the original issue wasn’t addressed. • I tried several times over the next few weeks to return, and was told you were too busy. When I finally made it in—after calling off work and spending money on Ubers for the original visit—Joe waited until I was standing in front of him to say, “I thought about it, and I’m going to have to charge you again.” He was going to charge me another $120. Then he refused service entirely when I pushed back. This isn’t about getting free labor—it’s about being charged for work I didn’t ask for, and then being refused the opportunity to resolve the original issue that I paid for.

My first major repair on a 2009 lancer. Joe was honest. Joe was realistic and VERY reasonable about timeframe and cost. Joe even showed me video of repair- which I also appreciate since I couldn't wait on premises. So far it rides great. Very pleased. Joe is funny to talk with too. THANKS GUYS.

USA is one of the best services I've received. Joe is awesome, he's honest and thorough, took care of my car repair in a timely manner. He kept me up to date on the status of repairs. He also recommended additional maintenance that was needed. I am very pleased with this shop.
